Spring is in the air
I don't like feeling stuck, not having options, trapped, not in control. Like I'm caught in a big snow drift.
Today’s blog is a little bit different. It’s March 1 — a beautiful, sunny day in Hamilton; still cold, but the bright morning sun is earlier now and spring can’t be too far away.
It’s been a long, cold winder for me. In fact, it seems like it’s been winter for well over a year, with personal and work challenges pressing and piling up like a snow drift, making it difficult to move forward, or to move at all.
Stuck.
I don’t like feeling stuck, not having options, trapped, not in control. Sometimes there’s somethinig you can do to get unstuck, other times you just need to wait for the snow to melt: slowly, almost imperceptibly. And then it’s gone, and the sun is shining, and spring — with all it’s life and enthusiasm — is arrived.
My sister-in-law had a baby last week. Larayna is beautiful (funny, no-one said she looked like me), and the rest of my family is all a-glow. Another awakening, another spring.
The best part of all this for me is that I did nothing to cause this change in the air… these ‘miracles’ are absolutely free. All I can do in return is be grateful, which in itself is a wonderful feeling.
So today, March 1st is ‘gratitute day’ for me. Can it be that for you too? I hope so.
Happy Spring!
