Have a stress free summer with the Spa at Ancaster

Spa at Ancaster

The summer is almost here and it is sure to be one that goes down in the history books. As the world tries to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, we are all asking questions about what the future will look like and what businesses will be opening or closing down in the near future. We are happy to announce that one of our clients, The Spa at Ancaster, has evolved their service and product offering with their brand new website which lets you get ready for your pampering and gift giving this summer.

Luxurious Spa Treatments

From the moment you walk into the doors you’ll immediately feel at home with the charm and elegance of this beautifully restored heritage building, now over 6,500 square feet. Their facilities include a wet room with heated granite massage tables, sauna and steam room, the latest technology in hair removal, a full service hair salon, facial and massage rooms, and a special couple’s room which features its own hydrotherapy bath and fireplace.

Although the spa is still closed due to the pandemic, you can book your treatment any time for yourself, or buy one in the form of a gift card for your loved one, which will be redeemable as soon as the Spa at Ancaster can open their doors to the public again. The gift card will be personally delivered to whichever address you choose, so you can order one as a treat for yourself or surprise that special someone.

Rich History

The Spa at Ancaster is a building that is rich in history.

David Richardson, a farmer who lived in the Trinity Road area of Ancaster since his arrival from Scotland in 1836, was the owner of the land running from the present day 339 to 347 Wilson Street. In 1872, David Richardson built the two-story stone house (originally called “Sunnyside”) on Wilson Street as a wedding present for his son Dr Henry Richardson and future daughter-in-law Sarah Catherine Egleston, who were married on June 11, 1873.

The house was solidly made of 15″ stone blocks cut from the neighbouring quarry and was designed with many of the popular Italianate brackets and influences of the time.

Over the decades to come the house has exchanged six generations of owners and has had a variety of home improvements. In 2001, the property was bought by Derek and Zinnia Watts who intended to retain and restore some of the original features of the property as they converted the building to become the new home of The Spa at Ancaster.
